North Bay Mathematics Project (NBMP) uses the lesson study process as a
cornerstone for our professional development work. It allows us to
implement in our classrooms the pedagogy and content learned in adult
settings. Through Lesson Study, NBMP provides teachers with the time
and support they need to study how to meet the educational needs of all
our students.
We have been studying different ways to store and
retrieve the results of this work. This site is an investigation on
how to store, retrieve, and network the insights we are gaining from
the Lesson Study Process. The issues we invite you to help us
investigate are:
- How to efficiently store and access lessons – at any time and from any place.
- How to share the thinking behind the lesson.
- How to encourage others to view and use the lessons.
- How to build the site to allow for ongoing comments and revisions.
- How to enable those with expert knowledge to elaborate our thinking.
As
you make use of this site, we are anticipating that you will share your
knowledge and insights after you teach one of the lessons. We also
would like your reactions to how this Lesson Study Library Project
works or does not work for you. As with the Lesson Study Process, we
are hoping to continually revise and refine this project.
